First iron and steel region of France, north region plays a major role of railway construction and car in Europe. It holds also a place of foreground by its mechanical engineering industries and has very large network of small industries (PME). A great number of them use machine elements covered by thermal spraying.

The international meetings of Industry and Academia are the special occasion to make an overview of the processes and techniques related to scientific and technological aspects of thermally sprayed coatings.
